Connie created this Mardi Gras Costume for one of the Carnival Krewes in Louisiana. This King Costume was constructed with Purple Velvet and Gold Lame. For this Costume Design trim played the most important part to create the rich look that was achieved.
Connie's has been designing Mardi Gras Costumes for over 25 years. She has created well over 20 King Costumes including her oldest son who was the first King of a children's krewe in Lafayette.
The picture to the right shows a close-up of the back collar of the king's robe. This King Costume called for a beautiful snowflake motif applique. Connie added aurora borealis stones to
finish the Costume Design and to add sparkle.
The picture to the left shows the complete King's Mantle. Large Decorated Masks were the featured appliques for this particular theme. Different size snowflakes were carried out throughout the Costume Design.
